To move on more with my story, I
accepted Christ when I was 17 years old and I am the only Christian in my
family considering I came from a religious Buddhist family background. Being a
baby in this new chapter as a Christian, I was so eager to find a new church to
expand my faith however, it was not an easy thing to do. So I did not attend
any church for one whole year and I felt so lost and depressed. There are so
many times I felt I want to give up and just go back to Pahang and stay with my
family. What made me not lose hope is when I started praying to God. God
answered me one day and told me that to never give up in life because He always
has the greatest plans for me. From then on, I decided to stay and fight
whatever challenges and obstacles that God will put into my life.
God gave me a breakthrough on
January of 2013 when I met my friends who were studying in Segi College that was
recruiting new people to join their newly built cell. These two friends of mine
were Garry Voon and Ryan Tan. I started joining their carecell. At first I was
a very quiet and timid person in cell. However, this bunch of awesome people
that I met in carecell gave me a great opportunity to open up myself and slowly
I became a part of them. As time progresses, my cell combined with Aaron
Daniel’s cell. As I was in my second cell, the 2 main people who motivated and
mentored me to be the person who I am today are Aaron Daniel and Garry Voon.
They always believe in me no matter how much of mistakes I do, and the hidden
potential that I have in me. They polished me into a confident, beautiful, and
a faithful person to God. One day, Aaron approached me to join the core team in
carecell. At first I was clueless as to what core team even mean. I was
definitely very confused whether I should take this responsibility or not
because I do not have experience in leading a carecell and I don’t want to step
out from my comfort zone.
The main reason why I join the core
team for carecell is because of God calling and his love towards me. I prayed
every day that He will guide me to the right path. As I attend core team
meetings every week, I have learnt a lot of knowledge as to ways to lead a
carecell and at the same time, putting God first in my life. Being in carecell,
the cell members showed unconditional care and faith towards me that made me
felt I should step up and be more than I am now. Because when I choose to stay in
my comfort zone instead of stepping out of it, I might miss out on an
opportunity that will not come by a second time in my life. So, I took up the
challenge to become a carecell leader. Today, I am leading a carecell close to
18 people and I never felt so much God’s love in my life.
Moral of my story
that I gain is if you put God first in your life, He will surely bless you with
abundant love from Him. Do not give up and always have faith in him.
